ASUS Unveils the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG: Gaming Monitors with RGB Tandem OLED Technology
ASUS has officially unveiled its first RGB Tandem OLED gaming monitors, the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. These monitors offer QHD (1440p) resolution support at ultra-high refresh rates, revolutionizing the gaming experience.
The monitors utilize LG's RGB Tandem OLED technology, which enhances peak brightness and color volume. This technology also extends the expected lifespan of the OLED screens by 60% compared to the previous generation W-OLED screens. Additionally, ASUS's TrueBlack Glossy coating reduces glare while maintaining deep black levels.
ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W: The High-End Gaming Monitor
At the high-end of the spectrum, the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W stands out with its incredible 1440p (QHD) resolution and a native refresh rate of 540Hz. Gamers seeking an even faster experience can push it to 720Hz in HD mode.
This monitor offers a range of connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1 (with full 80 Gbps support) and DisplayPort 2.1a (with UHBR20). It is DisplayHDR 500 True Black certified, supports 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color space, true 10-bit color, and boasts a Delta E<2 color rating.
TrueBlack Glossy WOLED for Optimal Performance
ASUS's TrueBlack Glossy film incorporates a "zero-haze" optical layer, reducing reflections by 38% compared to previous-generation WOLED glossy monitors. This results in deeper blacks and minimizes the impact of reflections. The Clear Pixel Edge algorithm further enhances text and fine lines, ensuring spreadsheets, code, and creative timelines appear razor-sharp.
ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG: A More Affordable Option
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG is a Tandem OLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 280Hz at 1440p. While it shares many similarities with its higher-end counterpart, the key differences lie in its enclosure, stand, and maximum refresh rate. Both monitors are VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black screens with true 10-bit color support.
Given its lower refresh rate, the XG27AQWMG uses DisplayPort 1.4 instead of DisplayPort 2.1. This model is expected to be more affordable.
Pricing and Availability
In the US, the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W is available now for $1099, while the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG is priced at $599. At Scan Computers UK, these monitors are available for pre-order, with the ROG Swift model priced at £948.98 and the ROG Strix model at £519.98.
